Our Angels is an ongoing series where we honour cherished pets who have passed away. Today’s angel is Tigger, a gorgeous kitty who brought so much joy into Claudia and Cleo’s lives.
Tigger was an excellent cat.
From the very beginning there was something special about her. We adopted her from a shelter where I volunteered, and she instantly bonded with a family full of people and many pets.
Tigger became buddies with our dog and our other adopted kitties. She made a best friend who remained very close to her until the day she died – Cleo, another stray kitty we adopted. I would always find Tigger and Cleo cuddling together, sometimes even spooning, but always together. They were inseparable. But she loved people just as much. She was the best snuggler (no other cat comes close), and would find her way to the coziest nook or cranny on your body, and loved going under the blankets. Her signature move was the “head bonk”, which I always thought was her way of giving you a little love. Tigger was affectionate, curious and content, and the volume of her purr is unmatched.
We all miss her more than words could possibly express – she has left a mark on our lives and a gap that no other cat could fill. She is especially missed by her adoptive sister Cleo, who has continued to grieve.
